We’d be lying if we said that Glock airsoft guns weren’t some of the most popular GBB airsoft pistols on the market.
But is the hype worth the investment? Let’s take a closer look at what these airsoft replicas are all about and see if, in this instance, popular opinion is right or wrong.
Reliability and Durable Components
Umarex and Elite Force Airsoft produce a lot of officially licensed Glock airsoft guns styled after popular models. Fans of the Glock 17, Glock 42, Glock 19, and others can all find something that suits their tastes. There is even a Glock 18C replica available out there with an extended mag
Like their namesakes, these Glock model replicas are largely made from high-density polymers and are extremely durable airsoft guns, and are either green-gas or CO2 powered.
They also pretty much universally feature gas blowback actions, which simulate the recoil operation of the originals. They offer realistic handling, weight, balance, and recoil.
They’re also very reliable. Since there are no sensitive electronics, if you keep them clean and don’t abuse them, well, they’ll work. Just keep them well charged with green gas or CO2 and they’ll do what they’re supposed to do when you pull the features.
Price and Features
For the most part, what you see is what you get. These are Glock replicas, so they’re meant to simulate the experience of holstering or shooting a Glock.
A couple of them even have a section of rail under the barrel, which can be useful for mounting airsoft attachments like lights and lasers – or other accessories, as you see fit.
They’re also priced pretty affordably. You can get most of them for somewhere between $100 and $200 dollars, which isn’t cheap, but again, these are airsoft pistols that will really last if you take care of them.
Practicality
A note on practicality. No one is expecting to sweep a whole facility during an airsoft match with nothing but a single GBB airsoft pistol that holds 21 rounds. Even if you’re strapped to the max with spare mags, that’s not what they’re for.
Keep the AEG with a hi-cap mag that can fire 20 RPS for that. That’s the point – these pistol replicas are sidearms.
And, with that said, they make pretty good sidearms. They’re comfortable, they’re accurate, they handle well, and most importantly, they’re reliable. So green gas and CO2 don’t shoot as well in the cold as electric guns – as we said, they’re sidearms. They work for what they’re made for.
Where Can You Get a Glock Airsoft Gun for a Good Price?
In short, if you’re looking to holster some cool factor with a load of reliability before your next match, you’re not going to be disappointed with a Glock airsoft gun. There are higher-end airsoft pistols, but a Glock is “everyman” airsoft player’s bread and butter.
